Media Cubs from Leigh had the exclusive chance to hold their very own press conference with Nick Butterworth, British children’s author and illustrator.

Nick is well known for his Percy the Park Keeper books which also became a hit animated television series!

Mini reporters were able to find out more about his life, career and favourite books – and get inspired to read and use their local library more.

Media Cubs project lead, Kirsty Day, said: “We love having excellent role models in our newsroom and this was a very special one indeed.

“One of the children even rented Nick’s book from the library straight away after our session finished, so we could see the positive impact straight away.”
