Reporters create special video series to celebrate ten years of Manchester Youth Zone

Our team have collaborated with Manchester Youth Zone to give their young people a taste of media and the opportunity to create a series of special videos to celebrate the charity’s tenth birthday.
Mini reporters joined us for a series of fun interactive workshops, trying their hand at camera work and interview skills.
They were able to put their new abilities and ideas into action, producing a film with others members from the zone, as well as staff and alumni, to showcase why the organisation is so important and well-loved.
Check out their lively report below:
Kids were able to chat with their CEO Amanda Naylor to ask about her work and plans for the future – you can check out the full-length interview with Amanda here.
Of course, a tenth birthday deserves a big party, so we celebrated with the charity at their special event hosted at Escape to Freight Island.
Reporters chatted with sponsors and guests throughout the evening as well as enjoying the live music and activities on offer
And one of our favourite parts of any project – don’t forget to laugh out loud at these bloopers!
Kirsty, our Media Cubs lead, said: “It was fantastic to turn MYZ members into a team of reporters; who were all full of energy and ideas to create videos that truly capture the impact of MYZ.
“What better way to celebrate the charity’s tenth birthday than handing the mic over to members to share their experiences.
“Here’s to the next ten years of Manchester Youth Zone and getting to work with more of their talented young people.”
