Foundation 92 and Media Cubs join forces to inspire the next generation of sports media stars.

Foundation 92, the official charity of Salford City FC, and Media Cubs, a pioneering pop-up TV studio dedicated to broadcasting confidence in every child, is proud to announce their new partnership.

Together, they are launching ‘Sporting Explorers,’ a dynamic programme funded by Sport England aimed at primary school children in Salford and Manchester.

‘Sporting Explorers’, which is set to kick off in March, will provide children with the unique opportunity to develop media skills while exploring the world of sports. Through interactive workshops and hands-on activities, children will learn the basics of media production, including filming, interviewing, and reporting.

The young reporters will put their newfound skills into practice by covering new sports introduced to them and delving into the world of Salford City FC. This immersive experience aims to foster a love for sports and empower children to share their stories and perspectives.

“We are thrilled to partner with Foundation 92 to launch ‘Sporting Explorers’ and bring the exciting world of sports media to primary schools in Salford,” said Kirsty Day, Media Director at Media Cubs. “Through this programme, we aim to inspire and empower children to become confident communicators while fostering a deeper connection to sports and their community.”

Head of Media & Engagement at Foundation 92, Damon Traverse added, “We are excited to collaborate with Media Cubs on this innovative initiative. ‘Sporting Explorers’ aligns perfectly with our mission to engage and inspire young people through the power of sport, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our community.”
