Young reporters collaborate with Forestry England

A group of our young reporters were invited to spend the day at Forestry England‘s Delamere Forest in Cheshire to explore the site and learn more about their work.
For over 100 years, Forestry England have been growing, shaping and caring for over 1,500 of the nation’s forests.
To celebrate The Gruffalo’s 25th birthday this year, young people can discover giant Gruffalo sculptures, or have a go at a Gruffalo orienteering course or party trail at Forestry England sites across the UK.
They also got to work planting trees and learnt more about the life cycle of a forest and sustainability with Beat Forester Adam Evans.
The group were able to learn more about why certain trees are felled and how new woodlands are created.
