These Girls Can Do Anything: Media Cubs takeover a Brownies session in Didsbury

The Media Cubs crew paid a visit to a group of budding reporters at 1st Didsbury Brownies (Girlguiding Manchester) to transform their usual session into a newsroom and TV studio!
The Brownies were supported to broadcast their confidence; having a go at presenting, interviewing, camera and directing skills in our pop-up TV studio. They all stepped into the studio where they got to create their own news stories from Easter celebrations, climate change, animal discoveries, favourite chocolate, and Taylor Swift on tour!
Abbie East, Girlguiding North West Ambassador and Leader, 1st Didsbury Brownies, said:  “The girls absolutely loved the session! It inspired them to get creative and make their voices heard and showed them a whole industry that’s crying out for young, female talent. It also fitted in perfectly with our Girls Can Do Anything badge!”
Media director for Media Cubs Kirsty Day, added: “We loved our session with 1st Didsbury Brownies. The girls took on different roles in the media from director, to videographer and presenters. I think we found some stars of the future! Congratulations on the new badge girls – very well deserved.”
We love working with uniformed groups like Brownies and Scouts – using our pop-up TV studio to bring skills badges and topics to life!
